Antique Burmese Black Bronze Buddha Statue seated on a stepped throne with hand gesture in bhumisparsa mudra, “Calling earth to witness”, with a childlike roundish sweet face with high arched eyebrows.

The Hair curls on this statue are emphasized by small peppercorn-size elevations. The outline of the robe is gilded and decorated with a thayo lacquer scrolling pattern and glass mosaics on both the front and the back. Some gilding remains on the face and on the decoration around the edges of the robe and pedestal.
